BYE-LAW NO. 2 Dewan-e-Khas and Darbar Hall
Bye-Law 2 (1):Up to 1830 hours in winter and 1930 hours in summers, shirts with or without ties, bush shirts or Shalwar Kamiz may be worn. However, members are expected to display a good standard of dress decorum.

Bye-Law 2 (2): After 1830 hours in winters, members are required to wear national dress, lounge suit or combination suit of quiet colours or Shalwar kamiz with coat/blazer/achkan/waist coat. After 1930 hours in summers, members are required to wear shirts and trousers with tie or a suit or Shalwar Kamiz with coat/blazer/achkan/waistcoat.

Bye-Law 2 (3): The dress code will be relaxed for the Sunday Brunch.

Use of club by Children in Dining Hall/ Lounge
Bye-Law 4 (1-f-i): Children below 12 years are not allowed

Bye-Law 4 (1-f-ii): Children between 12 and 16 are allowed provided they are properly dresses and accompanied by parents.

Bye-Law 4 (1-f-iii): Children between 16 and 26 are allowed provided they are properly dressed.

SPORTS

1.Indoor Swimming Pool

Indoor Swimming Pool closed due to maintenance work for the last fortnight is now operational. Outdoor poll will remain closed during the winter season and will be reopened on 01-April-2012.

 

2.Tennis Tournament

The Islamabad Ranking Tennis Tournament was held from November 1-5, 2011. It was partially sponsored by the Rotary Club of Islamabad Metropolitan. In all 77 players competed for 7 events which included men's singles, men's doubles, boys and girls singles, seniors doubles, veterans doubles and singles for the club employees. Tournament  concluded on 5 November with the men's  and boy's single final matches followed by prize distribution ceremony. Mr. Ahmed Ejaz won the men's single title and Go Mazhar won the boy's final. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Senator Wasim Sajjad. The event was covered by the PTV and telecast in the 2100 hours khabarnama. The Dateline Islamabad daily and the Nation covered the tournament news in their Sunday 6 November issues.

 

 

 

3.Annual Swimming Gala 2011

Annual swimming gala was organized on 23rd & 24th of July at Islamabad Club’s Covered Swimming Pool. A large number of enthusiastic members displayed keen interest and fully participated to enjoy the occasion. The competition was held in Free Style, Breast Stroke, Back Stroke and Butterfly events. Relay Race and Med Lay featured in different categories.

Various other interesting races were added to enhance the fun like Grand Mother Race, Candle Race and Treasure Hunt. Medals and Certificates were awarded to the winners.MS. ALLA H. GHANI and MS. AMNA HAYAT were declared the best female swimmers, while MR. ABDUL RAFEH NIAZI the best male swimmer.  

The Sub-Committee has decided to hold Winter Gala in the December holidays of Schools and Colleges which would we expect to be en event of a great fun and flavor. We also plan to disengage next year Gala with competition / Championship. All events would be held under strict rules and best supervision. We are grateful to the convener and Sub-Committee for their effort and hard work in organizing the Gala Event.

 

4.Squash Tournament 2011

Islamabad Club Squash Tournament was organized from 17th to 26th July 2011. The tournament comprised events in the open, under 17, under 21 and over 55 categories.

The Convener and members of the Squash Sub-Committee deserve our appreciation for successfully organizing the tournament.

 

5. Childeren's Play Area

It gives us great pleasure to announce that “Children’s Play Area” is fully functional since 27th July 2011. The efforts of the Gym Committee are laudable and its Convener Dr. Nabeela Ali deserves full compliments for taking keen interest to make it a success.


The occasion was graced by the presence of the Administrator and the honorable members of the Managing Committee. After its inauguration by the Administrator and members of the Managing Committee were briefed about equipment installed in the play area.   
The play area is located adjacent to the open swimming pool and includes Xerplay Kit, Sportswall XerTrainer 2 Station system, Sportswall Xerpro 1200, Pump it up pro XerDance V2-8Player System, Makoto Arena – 6’ legs.


Charges for newly opened Children play area has been fixed at Rs. 100 per head per visit with effect from September 1, 2011. In the meantime this facility is extended to member’s children on complimentary basis from 11:00am – 6:00pm. However, from September 1, 2011 timing will be from 9:00am – 9:00pm.

 

 

6. Tennis Coaching program :

Summer tennis coaching classes for children and adults (ladies/gents), both for primary and advance levels, are in progress at Islamabad

Club’s Coaching Center under the direct supervision of Mr. Mahboob Khan, a Certified Tennis Teacher, Coach, and Tennis Developer of International stature. Minimum age required for registration is 9 years. Modern, state of the art standard method of tennis teaching is employed. In order to re-enforce learning, hitting sequencings and stroke’s diagrams of the top ATP and WTA players are shown.

Dates and timings will be announced once the registration and grouping processes are completed.

EVENTS

1. BBQ Night:

Islamabad Club's regular feature BBQ Night on Saturdays has been shifted from back lawns to the Family Hall and Darbar Hall with the same menu.

 

2. Tombola:

The Club will continue to hold two weekly events every Monday and Thursday at 06:30 0pm. The Tombola Sub-Committee isalso holding a monthly event known as “Monthly Super Tombola” on the first Monday of each month, a family event ensuring fun and flair for our members and their family. Valuable suggestions in the context of sponsorship, suggestions for improvementet are most wel come at fahadbinsaeed@islamabadclub.org.pk.

 

 

PROJECTS

 

1. Rainwater Harvesting

In view of the increasing water shortages in the country and its impact on the environment, water management has become a critical requirement. To fulfill our social and environmental responsibility, the club has started a project to harvest rainwater as well as the water drained from the swimming pools, and utilize it to meet our irrigation water requirements. In phase I, the construction of one tank and a recharging well is nearing completion.

2. New Guest Rooms Block

The Managing Committee has approved in principle the construction of a new Guest Rooms Block in two phases.Phase-I includes the entire structure of the guest room block, completion of 48 guest rooms, 6 suites and allied facilities with new parking area, mosque, time office and driver's accommodation. Phase-II includes completion of the remaining 46 suites and allied dining and conference facilities including two

dining rooms, two party rooms and a member's lounge.

3. Development of Polo fields:

The club has started development of a polo ground for its members. The project includes a polo ground, stick and ball, exercise track, club house, stables and allied facilities

4. Out Door Lighting:

The present external illumination design does not bring out in prominence the landscape and scenery of Islamabad Club vividly at night due to insufficient illumination levels. Besides conventional light fixtures and lamps are not energy efficient. To take advantages of the modern advancements in lighting technology, the requirement for energy efficient lighting systems and to project the beauty of the architecture as well as the surrounding environment, a new external lighting plan is being implemented under the supervision of NESPAK. The work is expected to be completed in six months.

5. Staff Housing

Projected completion date of staff housing is December 2011

6. Riding Club house:

Projected completion date of riding club is March 2011

7. Badminton court and New Gymnasium Building:

Projected completion date of badminton court and new gym building is April 2012

 

 

GENERAL

2. To1.Flower Show 2011

The CHRYSANTHEMUM  and AUTUMN Flower Show 2011 was held from 25 Nov, 2011 to 28 Nov, 2011. Islamabad Club also participated in this show and WON 1st Prize.

 

Flower Show was organized by ISLAMABAD HORTICULTURE SOCIETY, ISLAMABAD.

 

 

2.Rules pertaining to Parking & Servants
Time and again we have been requesting our honorable members that club rules regarding Car Parking and Servants may strictly be followed in order to ensure discipline in the club.

We therefore reiterate that following rules may please be adhered to in true spirits:
.

  • Car parking area meant for ‘disabled only’ should not be used by members/guests who do not fall in this category
  • Members are requested not to leave their cars parked while they are not present in the club.
  • Chauffer driven & Squad Cars should use Car Park # 2 & 3.  Car Park # 1 should be used for self-driven cars by members.
  • Private servants are not allowed in any part of the Club. The drivers, bodyguards and maid servants are not allowed beyond the Car Parking area.

 

2. Information & Guest Relations Desk
A center point facility of Information & Guest Relations Desk has been introduced to ensure provision of better services & care to our members & guests. The desk is located in the main lobby in front of Main Reception and is manned by trained & dedicated personnel. Members and guests may contact this desk for all kind of information and queries regarding club, its facilities, services, events, memberships, rules and for lodging of any complaint.
